Mary P. Todino, 84

Mary P. Todino, 84

Mary Phyllis Todino passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and devotion to her family and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her beloved parents, Guido Mario Todino and Catherine Bega Todino, and her brother-in-law, Paul Burns. She is survived by her sister, Constance Burns; her nephew Christopher Burns and his wife Lisa; and her niece Kate Burns Reed and her husband Michael. Mary was especially proud of her great-nieces and great-nephews, Madelyn Burns, Ryan Burns, Nathan Reed, and Charlotte Reed, whom she affectionately called her “greats.” They were truly her greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially during family holidays where she happily spent hours playing games and talking with them. Nothing made her happier than hearing about their latest adventures and she followed their lives with immense pride and love.
Mary graduated from Milford High School in 1960. She later attended a tourism and travel school in Kansas and went on to build a career as a travel agent, a profession that allowed her to explore the world and visit many countries across the globe. She was also a graduate of Dean College, where she studied business.
Family meant everything to Mary. When Chris and Kate were growing up, Mary’s home was always open to them and their friends. She welcomed everyone with warmth and generosity —taking them on trips, spoiling them with junk food and always being the one willing to make the late-night pick-ups that no other parent wanted to do. She loved being part of their lives and creating lasting memories, treating their friends as if they were part of the family.
Mary came from a large Italian family in Milford and often shared stories about growing up on Water Street and family gatherings on Bear Hill, memories she held dear throughout her life.
For the past ten years, Mary made her home at Mission Springs in Holliston, where she enjoyed game nights, movie nights and the friendships she formed there.
Mary was a woman of deep and abiding faith. Her faith was a constant source of strength and comfort throughout her life. She attended church regularly and prayed often, finding peace and reassurance in her relationship with God. While her family and friends will miss her dearly, they find comfort in knowing that she is now home with her Savior, a place of peace she believed in so strongly.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 14, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home in Milford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Milford. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her sister, nieces and nephews.

Dear Connie, my condolences to the passing of your sister. I have so many fond memories of Mary Phylis as a kid and through the years. I remember mostly of her smile, kindness, laughter, stories of the attic on Water Street and especially her love of family and faith.

With great sympathy and sadness I write this about a person I knew from my youth. She was always kind and helpful even when I wasn't as a child. I know we lost touch as I moved away and the hour that held a large family together slowly eroded with time . Forever grateful to have known you.

I will remember all the times spent with Mary fondly and will miss her.
